Look at every path closely and deliberately. Try it as many times as you think necessary. Then ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question. Does this path have a heart? If it does, the path is good. It will make for a joyful journey for as long as you follow it. You’re one with it. ~The Teachings of Don Juan by Carlos Castaneda
This October, I celebrate 10 years of being a Massage Therapist. It kind of blows my mind! I still remember the first day of hands-on training in massage school. We were learning how to massage the arm. I was so nervous to be touching people that I actually developed a rash down the inside of my forearms. I wasn’t able to take part that day because no one could be sure what had caused the rash or if it could be contagious. I was pretty certain it was just my nerves, but I was also relieved that I could sit this one out and just watch.
In October of 2005 (a year and a half and about 800 hours later), I completed the program. I knew this was my path with heart. I wasn’t sure where it would lead me, but I felt excited to continue my journey.
And now I’m here. Working in an office with awesome colleagues and with amazing clients like you. I don’t think I could have ever envisioned this 10 years ago. Even when I feel tired at the end of the week, I am so thankful it’s from doing work that I love.
Thank you for joining me on my path with heart. None of this would be possible without you. I’m looking forward to seeing where the next 10 years lead me!
p.s. I’m having some fun this month to celebrate! For details on my October contest, check out my most recent newsletter.
